MARJOURANA – THE PLANT Egyptian Marjoram. Scientific name: Origanum Majorana. Description: Small evergreen shrub, 30 – 40 cm tall, of the family of the Asteraceae, with small oval leaves and a scent reminiscent of eucalyptus. Origin: North Africa (Egypt) and Spain. MARJOURANA – THE “ORGANIC” ESSENTIAL OIL Technique: Extracted from the flowering dry tops of the plant, by steam distillation. Composition: Contains 1,8 –cineole and linalool, ingredients that give the oil its properties. Smell: Spicy, warm and yellow in color.
